Transvision 2010 in New York: World Congress transhumanist and futurist

The earth 'in Milan, in the penultimate weekend of October, the World Congress of transhumanist: Transvision 2010.

will be an intense, fast and exciting path in the transhumanist thinking contemporary technologies in developing countries, and the most visionary based on scientific achievements still far away. The conference, which takes place from Friday 22 to Sunday, October 24 at the Hall of Carmarthen 'Hotel dei Cavalieri in Milan, will explore the trends in scientific, technological, cultural, artistic and social promise to change our world beyond all expectations and could result in a "singularity" in only a few decades.

The previous edition was held in the United States of America, with the participation of millionaire futurist Ray Kurzweil and William Shatner, Captain Kirk's famous series Star Trek. It also announced big names for this Italian edition of the event.

One of the main speakers will be Aubrey de Grey, the prophet of radical life extension, known for saying that "the first person to live a thousand years is already born." It would seem a difficult challenge to be taken seriously if de Grey, director of the SENS project at Cambridge, he had an 'impressive array of theoretical developments and experimental results in laboratory animals to be submitted in support of his revolutionary ideas.

It will not be just a gathering of scientists and researchers but also of philosophers like Italians Riccardo Campa and Roberto Marchesini, author of numerous essays on transhumanism and the posthuman, as well as' the Cell transplantation in the United States Max More, Director of 'Global Humanity + transhumanist association and recognized as one of the founding fathers of contemporary transhumanism. Including the participation of artists: the future Graziano Cecchini, famous for having painted red futuristic Trevi Fountain, the video-poet Robert Guerra, Antonio Saccoccio net.artists will be joined by a pair of Dutch artists: Khannea Suntzu and Simon Deering with a dynamic sculpture designed to celebrate our future in space. Quest 'opera was commissioned by the brilliant Martine Rothblatt, transsexual millionaire thanks to his scientific discoveries in space and the frontier of medicine and owner of a major pharmaceutical company.

Rothblatt will be among the many speakers who will talk to one of the most fascinating perspectives: the 'immortality. Not only because of the prolongation of biological life developed by the project SENS Aubrey de Grey, but also thanks to the pioneering work of the new wave of researchers who deal with cybernetic immortality: the transfer of the contents of the human mind to cutting-edge computer, the so-called "mind uploading" that could offer a real immortalized post-biological the generation of our grandchildren. And there are those who go even further and assume the realization, through science and technology, all the promises of religion. On the last day of the conference, we will also discuss new transhumanist religions based on science.

As is natural for a conference dedicated to technology so advanced, Transvision 2010 is also open to those who can not be physically present with the use of the most advanced virtual reality technologies.
